Well - I'm currently in California enjoying myself immensly. I have travelled with Anna for this trek, and it has been a lot of fun. I left on Sunday, March 13th. We left the snow and clouds behind and am currently enjoying the California sunshine.

It was a pretty long day when we first arrived. We left @ 1400 from TO, and arrived in California @ 2030 local time. We had a 3 hour layover in Milwaukee - truly exciting, with nothing to do. I read a Janet Evanovich book in 1 sitting.

Arrived at night, got the car rental. We rented a Chrysler Seabring, convertible. We had no problems finding our hotel, which is good because both Anna and I are directionally challenged at reading a map... well, okay, I drove, she read the map, but still... we did pretty good.

Our hotel is just in Beverly Hills. It has been so wonderful here. The breakfast every morning features fresh fruit - I have never had it so good. The food is amazing here. I guess it hasn't had to travel thousands of miles to get to London....

On the first day, we did the Hollywood walk of fame, Graman's Chines theatre - we saw Be Cool in that theatre - amazing - I sat where Bruce Willis sat the day before for the premier of "Guess Who"... sigh - to be that close.... ;-)

We did a little more shopping, then went back to the hotel. We were both pretty beat. But then, we got tickets to a comedy taping. We set out to NoHo - North Hollywood - and saw Ant. He was taping his DVD special that night. It was a long day - but we still had to eat supper - so we went to El Pollo Loco for dinner - it was VERY VERY VERY good.

Second day headed out to Burbank for the NBC studio tour. We could not pick up tickets for Leno - he is not taping this week. We'll be back. We then went to CBS to get tickets for the Price is Right for the following day. We spent the rest of the day going through the farmer's market - it was very cool. We then went for a drive past Keanu's house, and lo and behold - there he was! Outside just about to get into his Jetta. Hello HANDSOME! ;-) Back to the hotel, and back out to the strip for dinner. Went to Mel's diner - saw Dominic Monaghan, and Justin Timberlake. What as ass. We were walking the strip - which, apparently nobody does 'cause we were the only ones walking on the side walks. I noticed this guy ducking in the back seat of a cadillac. Which, of course, drew my attention. so I looked - he looked familiar, could not place him, then it clicked when I looked away. So I looked back, and they had already turned the corner. When we walked past this restaurant, and there was the same car. There he was, complaining that his food was not ready for pick up - I guess in Hollywood, you don't exit your car to get your food, it gets picked up by the side of the curb - WHATEVER!

So we trudged back to the hotel - it was a good night - but was very tired.

Wednesday we went to CBS to get on the Price is Right - I know, silly, but it's something that I used to watch with my grandmother all the time, and since she's not well now it means more to me than ever. So, we got to CBS studios at 0730 - tickets said to be there by 8 - we were 311th in line. Well, after 1 hour of waiting, we found out that we were not going to even get a stand by ticket. THAT SUCKED!!! I was so depressed... we got tickets for the next day, and went to the beach - Venice Beach that is, to drown my sorrows in the sand - with ice cream, of course. I wore sunscreen - but not it the right places, as I got a really bad sunburn on my arms and the bottom half of my legs. Anna has been quite good about saying that I'm not bitching too much... har har. But it was quite interesting being on Venice beach - saw the muscle men, saw the hippies - a lot of pot places out there - and swam in the ocean - it was a perfect day. We went back to the hotel, and vegged - after getting el Pollo Loco though....
